During that time she received Natural Cultivation License in the state of North Carolina, were she pursued her dream for 3 years. After taking some time off to be a mom, she graduated from Paul Mitchell school of cosmetology in January of 2020. She plans to continue her education to keep up with the latest trends. Akiah is a graduate of Douglas J. Aveda School of Cosmetology. She has been doing hair since she was a little girl. When she was younger she would watch her Godmother, Lakesha and her grandfather, John, aka “PawPaw” cut and style hair. This made her passion for cosmetology grow continuously. Akiah better known as Kia believes God gave her this gift, and it is her job to fulfill that purpose to be a blessing to others. Her ultimate goal is to make her clients “hair dreams” come true before they leave her chair. In the words of Big Freeda, “Beyonce who? We did not come to play. Kings and Queens We Came to Slay.”
